Double your impact for land and water.
The first $50,000 in donations will be matched dollar for dollar today!

Investing in our future.
Our children and grandchildren will inherit the lands and waters we rely on today, and it's up to us to decide what legacy we leave them. Thanks to your care, McKenzie River Trust has protected more than 10,000 acres of land in Oregon, from the Cascades to the central coast. Across watersheds, we've planted more than one million shrubs and trees, restored over 25 miles of salmon-bearing streams, and connected thousands of people to our work through volunteering and community education.
Now, we're doubling down on our commitment to nurturing these places for years to come. In that same spirit, a small group of long-time friends and supporters has stepped forward to double your donation by offering to match every dollar given, up to $50,000, this Giving Tuesday.
“We are honored to support McKenzie River Trust and its work in the McKenzie River basin and beyond. The McKenzie River is a lifeline for Eugene and Springfield, supplying our drinking water and renowned recreational opportunities. The Trust’s commitment to protecting fragile habitats and scenic places in western Oregon safeguards these landscapes from current development pressures and future challenges. Their restoration and conservation efforts create durable protections that endure shifts in policy, politics, and funding. By being part of the Trust, we can assist in restoring and caring for our irreplaceable rivers, streams, and waterways—ensuring they thrive for generations to come.”
- Jane Squires and Paul Kaplan, members since 2015

Protected lands in the Yaquina Estuary transferred to McKenzie River Trust.

In 2021, we expanded our work into Lincoln County to help safeguard this special area on Oregon's central coast. Now, we’re carrying forward the good work of the Central Coast Land Conservancy and expanding impact across the Yaquina River watershed.
Cooperation strengthens conservation in Oregon's working forests.

This summer, we completed the purchase of 175 acres of high-priority habitat from Weyerhaeuser. This acquisition reflects the strength of thoughtful collaboration between conservation organizations and industry partners as we work to protect special places for Oregon’s communities, which rely on both commercial timber and natural habitats for economic and community health.
A Conservation Easement helps ensure a future for working lands in the Long Tom.

Thanks to the care of local landowners Trey and Tammie Hagen, 150 acres of riparian habitat and working lands, including approximately 45 acres of farmland and 50 acres of timber, were permanently protected in March through a working lands conservation easement with McKenzie River Trust.
